Out With The Old

 In With The New
After 15 plus years we are replacing the Bar-B-Q with a new one.  Ken, who designed and built the old one is also going to do the grate and steel part for the new one.  I am doing the stone part which is starting to take shape.
We are making good progress so it should be ready by March although as I get older these projects seem to take a lot longer than I anticipate.
Obviously it was time for a new one.

FOOT GOLF / SOCCER GOLF

Beginning November 23, 2013, we will be offering Foot Golf on Saturday and Sunday after 12 noon.  Anyone wishing to try this new sport can give the clubhouse a call at 916-363-6549 to set up a tee time or to get more information.
 Hole #1
Setting up Hole #4.  No you don't have to kick across the lake, we have a tee area on the other side, but for you daring Foot Golfers we are considering having a second tee from behind the lakes on both the third and forth holes.  There will be updates on this later.
Future Foot Golfer.  We are a family friendly facility but this might be a little too young.

Wet but Playable

2012-12-24
The golf course survived the recent rains better than we expected.  Yes it is very wet in spots but it is very playable and despite all the wind and soggy ground we only lost one tree.

Seventh Place - Eppies Great Race

Bradshaw's Eppies Team

We finished 7th Place in our division - The Tandem Kayak Division.  It is our forth year of doing the race and we have finished as high as 4th Place but either we are getting older (and slower) or the competition is getting tougher.  We prefer to believe the latter.  Richard had his usual fast time in the 6 plus mile run and Justin did equally as well on the 12.5 mile bike portion while Elisa and I were the anchor leg, the grueling almost 7 mile kayak.  It's tough work floating down river to cross the finish line with all the applause and accolades of the crowds to spur us on.  Elisa and I have vowed next year to improve our training regime and actually do more than one practice run down the river before the race.  Watch out for next year because we are on a mission.

New Landscaping

2012_05_25
Two years ago Sac County finished the road widening in front of the golf course.  Since then we have been working on replacing the landscaping along Bradshaw Road that was removed for the road widening.  Last year we put in the irrigation and this year we re landscaped the entry, replaced our signage, and are putting down weed control cloth and bark.  Hopefully this fall we can start replacing some of the plants.
